Hiya!

You will probably get some lionlops out of this litter, they are just like a mini lop but fluffy xD, you will also get some mini lops probably, probably some lionheads, and probably some short haired lionheads.

Now the colours i cannot determine, but i very much doubt you will get red eyed white, (albino) because, if both parents are that colour you normally dont get any that colour, so what you will get is the colour of your mum and dad to be's parents.

Remember she will have babies in 4 weeks time, make sure she has plenty hay/straw/food/water/clean cage this is essential. Don't touch her babies when first born. They will open their eyes at 2 weeks old, this is the right time to start handling them. They are born pink with no fur, blind and deaf. Don't clean the bedding area untill babies are fully out the nest. Mum will pull out hair for the babies nest this keeps them warm and they need this to survive. hay only helps warmth BUT the hair conducts the heat. Don't remove this hair, its needed. I think thats almost it, you'll learn as you go along but i'd recommend looking through a few websites about it so your fully prepared.

Good Luck!

  • How did rabbit's feet become known as ';good luck'; charms?

Rabbits have always been associated with good luck or karma and the foot is because rabbits use their feet to lift them high and make themselves look happy or lucky so the rabbits foot became good luckHow did rabbit's feet become known as ';good luck'; charms?
i dunno but its not very lucky for the rabbit! lolHow did rabbit's feet become known as ';good luck'; charms?
Rabbits and hares were considered very lucky animals as they were associated with spring and the return of flowers and other plants. Spring was also a time of fertility and so rabbits were considered good luck to be seen running through the fields. The manner in which rabbits run gave birth to the superstition about rabbit's feet. Apparently their unusual stride amkes the back feet touch the ground ahead of their front feet and so the back feet were considered especially lucky.

What is the earliest a male rabbit can get a female rabbit pregnant?

4 months???What is the earliest a male rabbit can get a female rabbit pregnant?
12 weeks. It is uncommon, but can happen. Generally, once the testicles drop, they can get a female pregnant.

A male can also have viable sperm for about 4-6 weeks after being neutered. What is the earliest a male rabbit can get a female rabbit pregnant?
The testicles of the male rabbit drop at about 6 months; any time after that is fair game. But a good idea is to get your male neutered or your female spayed. I know first hand how rabbits can be when they're not altered. Males will be territorial and sometimes this can cause rabbits that have been bonded for a long time to split and fight. Also, although it's kind of comical, males rabbits will run by and spray either you or the other rabbit with urine. They're usually dead on as far as targets go. Un-spayed females will be very agitated every once in awhile, just as we females do at certain times. Also females can have ';false pregnancies'; which is a miserable thing to deal with. Even if you plan on breeding them, just please remember that there are so many rabbits up for adoption. :)
they say it could be as early a 3 months-thats when youn def have to seperate them its been known that ic oudl be earlier

My rabbit is sick what could it be?

My rabbit is 5 years old and today she was looking a bit ill, her eyes are runny with white gunky stuff, although not a lot of it and her ears are floppy. I am wondering whether it is mixy, I am taking her to a store to get check asap! Anyone have any idea what it could be or if it is mixy etc? Any info would help!My rabbit is sick what could it be?
    It sounds alot like Myxo.

Has she been in contact with other rabbits?

Im not sure if theres anything you can do, but taking her to a store may pass her illness onto the rabbits they have there. Best thing to do is to take her to the vets if you want to help her. All the store can do is guess then say 'Get her checked out'

You will need a vet for a correct diagnosis.

Is it possible to train a house rabbit not to run away if you take them outside with you without a leash?

Even tame rabbits have that ';everything wants to eat me!'; spookiness about them.

I wouldn't risk it myself unless the area is fenced in or you have several people with you to help in the round-up.

My rabbit has lived outside for 4 years can i bring him indoors?

also i was wondering if i could get another rabbit as company for him because sadly he lost his friend 3 years ago. Is it better to get another rabbit or maybe a guinea pig?My rabbit has lived outside for 4 years can i bring him indoors?
That is untrue..Rabbits are not loners and they do enjoy the company of humans and or other rabbits. In the wild rabbits live in packs.

If you bring him in..I would do it permanently. Once he gets used to having you around and becoming part of the family any changes to his environment will be depressing like putting him back outside.

I have rabbits and they love human companionship. They also enjoy being indoors and all the attention. If you choose to get another rabbit, I would be very cautious. Some rabbits have a sudden bond..While others fight and never get along.

I wouldn't suggest a guinea pig, while some might get along..Your bunny has been alone for along time. He might hurt the guinea pig.

I recently adopted a rabbit from the shelter for my girl dwarf. I am in the bonding process right now. So if you do choose another one, make sure you have a second cage for your new arrival..You don't want to just throw them together.

Hope this helped some..Best wishes! My rabbit has lived outside for 4 years can i bring him indoors?
Yes, bring him in! He will appreciate the company you and others will give him, not to mention the nicer weather. Is he fixed? Introducing another rabbit is always tricky, but it can be done. Why don't you first bring him in and give him some attention, and see how he does.
Yes, you can bring him in. I wouldn't get a guinea pig though. The rabbit will most likely try and mate with the guinea pig and could do serious damage considering the size difference. I would just leave him near human company, male rabbits are very territorial and fight with each other
Leave bunny outdoors. They are rabbits and not human so don't feel that they are feeling cold or that they want company. Those are human traits. Rabbits are loners in the wild and only come together to mate. Rabbits will be happier outdoors. Humans with no fur or sufficient hair for warmth will be happier indoors. Why confuse the two?
You can bring him inside as long as you do not bring him in and take him back out in the cold weather regularly, as this will cause him stress and possible illness from the environment change

make sure that the area you keep him in i
yes you can bring him indoors but make sure you don't turn your central heating to much cause it could cause heat stroke... i think human company is enough for a male rabbit cause it can cause problems.. :) .xxx.
i don't think you should. he is used to being outside and when u bring him in he wont be used to all the new stuff and he'll make a mess. i have rabbits and i keep them outside. if u bring them in they will get sick my dad said.
keep the rabbit in the same habitat it's currently in. they live just fine alone.

How can i potty trane my full grown rabbit?

he is a floppy and a year old hes mean im trying to make him like me but i got a lot to do. i want to let him run around my house without worrying about the poop, so i got a litter box but he doesn't even sniff it. i dont want to be mad when he poop in the house cuz he already dosent like me as it is. how can i make him poop in the litter box. iv trained cats and dogs but almost giving up on the bunny. How can i potty trane my full grown rabbit?
A rabbit is not a cat nor a dog. They don't need to be running around the house 24/7. There's nothing wrong w/letting them out of their cage to get exercise and play, tho. Get a tupperware container or a smaller cat litter box and put pine shavings into it in his cage. DO NOT use cat litter! You will kill him! Once he gets used to going in it, then it'll be easier for him to sniff out if he knows what it's supposed to be for. Also, don't always make it fresh and clean. Save some poop and put it into the fresh batch so that he can smell himself and knows that's what he's supposed to do there. How can i potty trane my full grown rabbit?

If a rabbit breaks its toes or foot, how successful is it at knitting back together using a splint?

My two year old dutch rabbit has hurt his foot, we don't know what on, he was running around the garden, then when we went to put him in his hutch for the night, noticed a big cut on his front leg. On closer inspection at the vets, they think he has broken one or more of his toes. He is in now having it x rayed and then they are going to put it in a splint to set.

Does anyone know how successful this might be? How does a normally very active bunny cope with having his foot strapped, and what is the likelyhood that it will knit back together ok?If a rabbit breaks its toes or foot, how successful is it at knitting back together using a splint?
I have had two rabbits who suffered broken bones when they were young through being in large litters who played a rather mental jumping game - it's complicated, they were bonkers.

Anyway one of them was ';successfully'; splinted, but he never got the use back in his leg, it was much weaker afterwards and he hopped on three legs for the rest of his life. The second was much smaller and less resilient and the foot withered and he just had a stump after that. Both were back feet so I can't vouch for it being the same case for a front foot, but I can say that both rabbits I mentioned were very happy, tame rabbits who trusted people and would follow us around on the ground, so the treatment didn't upset their temperaments. They both also lived as long as any healthy four legged rabbit should. If a rabbit breaks its toes or foot, how successful is it at knitting back together using a splint?
Think carefully about the need for a split, I broke my finger and they dont put fingers in paster anymore, just a bandage for support for a week

How come the Easter bunny carries eggs when rabbit's don't lay eggs?

Because the bunny doesn't work for union wages and the chicken does? How come the Easter bunny carries eggs when rabbit's don't lay eggs?
Actually, Easter began when Nimrod married Semiramis in Babylon. He died and she wasn't ready to give up her power so she said that he ascended into the heavens and became the sun god. Mithra, Ra, etc. Well, months later she became pregnant and claimed it was the rays of the sun that made her pregnant. She gave birth to a son and named him Tammuz, who she reported to be Nimrod reincarnated. So people started worshiping them as gods.

When Tammuz was 40 he was killed by a wild boar during a hunting trip. This is where the 40 days of weeping for Tammuz come from, also known as Lent. Later Semiramis died and the story is told that she came down from Heaven and landed in the Euphrates River as an egg. A bird found her and saved her, as a reward she turned him into a Rabbit.

So on Easter, sun god worshipers also sacrifice three month old children that were conceived when priests would impregnate women on an alter to Semiramis, or Aphrodite if you wish to call her. The eggs would then be dipped in the blood of these infants.

There is more but not much room here. Look it all up it is true. How come the Easter bunny carries eggs when rabbit's don't lay eggs?
Originally he wasn't a rabbit, he was a European hare. The idea was brought over by German immigrants where there was an old folk tale/myth/joke about hares laying eggs. This is probably due to the fact that hares don't live in burrows, they raise their young in ';forms'; in long grass which look like the nests of some birds. It was probably a sort of tease - sending someone to look for hare's eggs meant an impossible quest.

    Please ignore any neo-pagan fantasies,
have you ever met a chicken? they aren't all that cute and cuddly. they can be quite mean if they are your typical barnyard chicken.

bunnies on the other hand are cuddly and furry and lend themselves to being the mascot of a holiday more easily than a chicken.
Easter is a pagan holiday dedicated to the goddess of fertility. The eggs and rabbit are symbols of fertility.
Eggs represent fertility, as does Spring. During Spring, many animals give birth.
The Easter Bunny isn't an ordinary rabbit! Everyone knows that and no one ever said he lays the eggs himself. He just paints them in wonderful colors!
Why do dogs have and bury bones when they don't lay bones?

How come you have food in your house that didn't come out of your body?
Some stupid traditional part of Easter made by some stupid person. I have no freakin idea.
I don't know, I guess because spring is when everything grows back. And the rabbit and chicks are spring animals I guess?
idk but when i was little my brother **** on the carrot we left out for the bunny and in the morning my dad threw up :D that when i found out he wasnt real xD
well he is a chiken-bunny. first his daddy (a bunny) found a hot chik and the rest.... is history

  • Can I use a dog cage as a Rabbit Cage?

I would really like to get a rabbit, and I've been doing research on how to look after them and stuff.

I've been looking around to try and find indoor cages, but there doesn't seem to be a wide selection (I wan't to spend between 拢30-拢40).

Could you use a medium sized dog cage as an indoor rabbit cage? Can I use a dog cage as a Rabbit Cage?
yeah you could just make sure the cage is big enough for the rabbit to hop around in and make sure the rabbit cant get out of itCan I use a dog cage as a Rabbit Cage?
Actually using a dog cage (well more commonly the crates) is a fairly popular way to house rabbits with all the overpriced and under developed commercial rabbit habitats in production right now. Just make sure your bunny has plenty of room to hop around in the cage and adding shelf for him/her to hide under or get up on to look around wouldn't be a bad idea either.
I wouldn't recommend it, the bottom of dog cages isn't high enough, and the rabbit would kick the shavings out. A dog cage is also pretty small. If you want to make a cheap cage, visit www.guineapigcages.com, its in your price range to make a cage. The more space, the better! Good luck :)
Yup thats what my rabbits are in and they are happy! Dont spend a whole lot of money. Try looking through yard sales first (if u have them..) and rumage sale, the classifieds and the like (again if u have them). Just make sure the cage is big enough for a litter box if u want them litter trained and enough room to run in.
*I bought the biggest dog cage I could find, it is not a crate. I like the cage to be open like the rabbit cages so this is why I buy the dog cage and not the crates. There is a lot of room in the real big ones even for the giants.
I use an open dog crate, not dog cage.

My bunny has plenty of room to move around and stretch out,and he can see everything around him.
Yeah you could depending on the size

the best thing to do is to seperate them because yes they could breed though it is not certain they will yet it wont be long before they are old enough.

if she is bred the best thing to do is around 28 days after you seperate them put a small box in for her with straw or hay or shavings (not pine) in for her to use as a nest box if you see she is pulling fur which is normal but not putting it in the box then place it in there yourself but make sure each time you handle the box once it is in you pet momma first to get her smell on your hand

then around 30-32 days after breeding depending on the time of day she gets bred she will have the litter of kits but with her age and it being a first litter she may not even have them in the box which would not be a good thing if you see that soon enough and your handle to get a pet or two on her so you have her smell on your hand you can place the babies in the box and hope she finishes then just watch to make sure she goes into the box at least once a day rabbits only feed their kits once a day

you have to make sure you have her smell on your hand/s if you have to touch a baby to put it into the box because if not she most likely will kill it

after about a week you can start putting just a bit of food each day in the box for the babies to nibble on and around 3 weeks they will start coming out of the box and eatting with momma and still nuse once a day from her at five weeks they are fully weaned or you can pull them from momma's cage and that is when you would find homes for them if you email me at handsome_bill2000@yahoo.com with what kind of rabbit and that i can even tell you the amount to feed and how much and how fast to up food for if she is preg

I think thats almost it, you'll learn as you go along but i'd recommend looking through a few websites about it so your fully prepared.

Purebred lionhead rabbit baby. Now it is displaying some unusual behavior?

where he digs at the bottom of the cage as if to get out. then he also has a sister which he constantly try's to mount it is very unnerving.what should i do to correct this behavior?Purebred lionhead rabbit baby. Now it is displaying some unusual behavior?
The digging is just him having fun - playing. The mounting is a problem.

Separate them. They can live in nearby cages/pens or you can have them neutered/spayed.

If you plan on leaving them intact to breed you still need to separate them. You don't breed females until they are at least 6 months old. You don't breed brother/sister pairs, either. mother/son or father/daughter breedings are okay with rabbits but done with some knowledge or you can get some bad results.

Don't be careless and just let your rabbits breed. You little girl can get pregnant very young and she'd be really bad off having babies before she's fully grown. Read a good book and do it responsibly - knowledgably with a purpose and a plan.Purebred lionhead rabbit baby. Now it is displaying some unusual behavior?
Either get him neutered or put him in his own cage. You might also put up an outdoor pen for them,so they can run around and dig for a few hours a day.

    Baloo

    Alphie

2 male guinea pigs and one female rabbit?

so im going to get a fixed female rabbit. is there any way my 2 male guinea pigs that will fight over her. (i have read that they fight over females). and i know their not the same species.

    please help

thanks2 male guinea pigs and one female rabbit?
No, they wouldnt fight over her simply because she is not a guinea pig. lol. Good job on not keeping them together! It makes me so happy that some people actually have brains out there! 2 male guinea pigs and one female rabbit?
maybe you can let them play together once in a while, but if what you heard is true, then that's not a good idea. i wouldn't doubt it, rabbits and guinea pigs can live together very well. if you let them play together sometimes maybe they will get usedto eac h other, but if there is any sign of fighting, you will know not to do it again.
no.and dont put them in the same cage! a kick from a rabbit can kill a guinea pig easily
i dont suggest putting the female rabbit in w/ two male guinea pigs.

How far does a dog chase a rabbit into the woods?

half way, lol.How far does a dog chase a rabbit into the woods?
Until he loses sight or smell of it, or until he catches itHow far does a dog chase a rabbit into the woods?
couldn't be too far, always heard: ';...and if the dog hadn't

    stopped to take a s***, he would have caught the rabbit';
does your dog chase it's tail ? --- for therein lies the answer .good luck
    half way

after that, he's chasing it out of the woods
    til he loses him.
usually a rabbit will not run in a straight line but circle. So your dog will run till out of earshot and then generally circle back around after the rabbit. This is most cases but then you might have the occasional young rabbit that just keeps on running . Get your dog trained to come back to a certain whistle.
Till the dog catches the rabbit.
Until it catches it or the owner calls it (if the dog is well mannered).
till they catch it or loose track of it then maybe ,if you were good to this dog it will come home.
til the dog looses of catches him
    twenty yards
I run rabbits with our Beagles all the time, and it is not uncommon to lose track of one if it starts 'trash running';. When this happens all I do is set a dog crate on the ground and go home. After about 50 years of doing this it has still never failed that the dog would be sleeping in the crate the next morning.
Only half way then he would chasing it out!
til he loses him or hes bored

Can i put a collar on my rabbit?

I just got two rabbits that are completely identical. Both are solid black girls with brown eyes. I would like to name them, but cant because i cant tell them apart. I also need to be able to tell them apart for general care reasons because they live together in one cage.

    So my question is:

Can I put collars (such as an extra small dog collar) on them?

If not, how can I tell them apart? Can i put a collar on my rabbit?
you can, but you will find the rabbit want like it to much. Can i put a collar on my rabbit?
I wouldn't see why not because they make little harnesses/leash things for them. So I'd do it. i have a leash for my guinea pig. not a collar though. but id do it
Try to see the diffrence between two things.( For example their reaction to you, their diet, their curisosity.) The examples are endless, and you should tell the diffrence soon.

the next day i cleaned her potty area and i noticed that there was a large stand of fur and there where a few bloody spots. My rabbit got out of her cage and i noticed that she had a chunk of fur missing, is it normal?
if she is otherwise acting ok I would just keep an eye on her and not take her to vet just yet. sometimes when rabbits clean themselves they pull at the fur and it comes outMy rabbit got out of her cage and i noticed that she had a chunk of fur missing, is it normal?
If she got out of her cage inside then she probably snagged herself on exiting the cage, check it and make sure it stopped bleeding and clean it following that put some antibacterial ointment on it.

If she got out, outside then she could have gotten attacked by another animal, in that case call the vet for an opinion. It would be a good idea to clean it and check it prior so that you can give your vet an accurate description.
    yes
I don't know, but I would go to the vet/call them.

Would anyone be able to take my rabbit over the summer?

I have an adorable mini rex rabbit. He's pretty small and about a year and a half old. I'm traveling for most of the summer and am unable to take him with me. Is their anyone that would be able to take him (ottawa) for the summer? I would provide everythng! He doesn't bite or scrath, and is very tame. Thanks alotWould anyone be able to take my rabbit over the summer?
depending from where you come from, aka england...go to paradise pets they offer a cheap service play with your animals and can ven feed them if you want this doing. if not maybe a family member or a neighbour if theyre trustworthy. if however they are not maybe you could ask to leave it with a friend?Would anyone be able to take my rabbit over the summer?
I would be soooooooo cautious on who I left my pet with. I work in at a local S.P.C.A so everyday I see the abuse and neglect that some jerks inflict on animals. I would just see if you can find a friend or family member to help, or ask your local vet office on boarding. Good Luck
Can't help you out because I don't live in your area.

Just wanted to warn you to be careful leaving your cute little bunny with someone random from the internet... it might be safer to leave him with someone you know and trust.
why would you leave your rabbit with a stranger they probably will kill it
Depends? What do i get in return? :O

My rabbit's ears always stand, 2day I noticed 1 ear hangs like a dead leaf while d other looks fine. Plz help!

She looks fine, still keep eating and running. There is no obvious wound or redness or swelling near the ear. When i try to help the ear to stand, it just last for a few seconds before it fell down again. It looks like the bone is broken or something. Please give me some advices what to do. Thanks very much.My rabbit's ears always stand, 2day I noticed 1 ear hangs like a dead leaf while d other looks fine. Plz help!
How old is she? Most baby bunnies ears are up, but when they get older (and bigger) they'll hang down. Or, she could be holding it that way on purpose.

If you are that concerned, you could take her to a vet. There are no bones in the rabbit's ear (I believe just muscles/tendons to hold the ears up.) but if you worry that some kind of trauma has occurred, you should get her checked out.My rabbit's ears always stand, 2day I noticed 1 ear hangs like a dead leaf while d other looks fine. Plz help!
her ear should be fine if it doesnt hurt when u touch it or move it...then i would be worried.

i love playing with both my bunnies ears!

So I've recently acquired a pet rabbit and am looking for a way to reward him with treats but which kind?

I've searched the internet some sites give me ideas but they contradict each otherSo I've recently acquired a pet rabbit and am looking for a way to reward him with treats but which kind?
My bunny LOVES blueberries, strawberries, and a slice of banana! You'll just have to try stuff to see what your rabbit likes! Just remember not to give him them all the time! I'll give her one strawberry like every two days or three little blueberries or the slice of banana! So I've recently acquired a pet rabbit and am looking for a way to reward him with treats but which kind?
Do not give your pet iceberg lettuce. Romaine, red leaf and other dark green lettuces are ok because they are more rich in nutrients. Iceberg lettuce is NOT good for your rabbit. Carrots and carrot tops are good. My rabbit likes little pieces of celery, and occasionally I give him 1-2 raisons if we're traveling or something that is stressful to him like a trip to the vet. Make sure you wash all fruits and veggies before letting him eat them. Grass that hasn't been treated with anything is also a good treat. Oh, and my bunny goes crazy for dandelions. Also, when you give your bunny something he hasn't eaten before, introduce it to him and slowly increase the amount over the next few weeks.
Well you could go to a pet store and look do you mean treats as food or treats as toys if toys you could make one by getting a toilet paper roll and put timothy hay in it sorry i dont know a food treat but like i said you could go to a pet store hope i helped and good luck! :)
I have a little information I have a bunny rescue and understand all the information out their isn't all cute and fluffy sometimes. well fruit and veggies are the best they love it just the basics really like lettuce since they aren't suppose so often and the pet stores will tell you the best for your bunnies appetite but carrots they love and alfalfa is a treat to be given on occasion
Rabbits like spring greens, grass and carrots. My bun Tizzy loves a handful of grass; she'll demolish it within seconds when my other loves carrots!
Small bits of fresh fruits, and fresh herbs both make excellent and healthy treats for rabbits.
My friend has several rabbits and they go CRAZY for vegetables. Especially lettuce.

Can anyone give me directions to public rabbit hunting in jordan game lands from chapel hill NC?

Stop in at your local gun shop and inquire.

Overweight Rabbit - What should I feed him?

My rabbit is too fat (and he's not going in the pot). Just wondered what I should be feeding each day. At the moment he has limited pellets, as much hay as he wants and some veggies. I'm going to cut down on the pellets but how much veg should I give each day and what type? At the moment he has carrott, parsley and basil.Overweight Rabbit - What should I feed him?
Did your vet tell you your bunny is too far? If so, I would ask the vet for advice, but ut sounds like you are headed in the right direction. Part of the diet advice depends on how old he is and how much he weighs. If he is over 1 year, then you should be giving him timothy hay NOT alfalfa and some people would suggest only plain timothy pellets. Some people suggest cutting out the pellets entirely but only do that if he is getting 3 or differnt types of grass hays and 5-7 different types of greens.

I would cut out the carrot as it has sugar and is adding calories he doesn't need.

With any change to diet, be sure to do it gradually.Overweight Rabbit - What should I feed him?
Oh no! If you can, block off the wallpaper as it might not be that good for him to chew. See if you can get him to eat more hay or leave our something else to chew, like organic apple twigs (no leaves). Good luck.

what you are feeding him now is good - a balanced diet. you could change his pellets for a 'diet' variety. supa rabbit exel have introduced a ;light' variety to their range. it's a good diet which contains everything he needs for a balanced diet without selective feeding. careful weighing every 2 weeks is important.
Don't feed him greens. They are not very good for a rabbits' digestive system and can cause them to have all sorts of health problems even death. People say give them lettuce, cabbage, sprouts etc - DON'T. They are safe eating grass and on occasions dandelion leaves. Carrots are good and for the winter - wet food, for the summer - dry food, both can be bought from the pet shop.
Do as you have been, his diet sounds ok, but rabbits dont need hard food unless they are underweight, and only then it should be a complete pellet, so cut this back gradually. Watch out for flystrike as I spent 2 hours today plucking maggots out of a v fat bunnies back (they can't clean themselves as well which attracts flies). Think of them as mini sheep-they need grass and hay and nothing else (veg as occasional treat).
with very little a few times a day
Check out www.rabbit.org. They have a great list of veggies to feed. Carrots are good, but they are high in sugar and should be fed sparingly (maybe half a carrot per day or less). What kind of hay are you feeding? Alfalfa is more fattening than timothy and is usually only suggested for young, growing rabbits. Adults should have timothy. The website I mentioned above has some great info on everything bunny-related. There's an even better site with a more comprehensive list... but I can't remember what it is. :( Anyway... from what I've read, pellets should be limited, hay should be free-fed and bunny should get at least 2c of veggies per day (with only a little bit of the more sugary ones like carrots %26amp; fruit).

PS... his pellets should be PLAIN. No seeds, nuts, etc. Food companies market ';supreme'; foods, which look appealing to US as humans... but they really aren't good for bunny. Bunny pellets should be PLAIN pellets, preferably timothy (which are harder to find), not alfalfa (for the same reason as the hay - alfalfa is more fattening).
little amounts of fresh veggies 5 times a day and cuddles!
dried pellets are not good, they will shorten his life and make him fat..what would he eat in the wild ?? give him as much fresh veg as you can..carrots..cabbage..not lettuce.
you can buy diet rabbit food from pet shops
    Lettuce
you may try just the pellets an hay cut back on the vegies to maybe once a week we feed ours pellets an hay twice a day a scoop of pellets in the morning an a handful of hay per rabbit an the same at night we only give veggies 2xs a week along with their other treats
    Less
    Salad...
You are feeding the correct type of food. Reduce his pellets so it covers the bottom of his feeding bowl in the morning, unlimited hay and half a carrot, leaf of greens or floret of broccoli in the evening. Also try to increase his exercise. A run of 6' x 3' is great or a large room in the house and a hutch 5' x 2' is good. I You should also get him a neutered female as this will increase his exercise as they enjoy chasing each other, grooming etc which helps to expend energy. Get his teeth checked to make sure they are OK and a general health check to exclude a reason for the weight gain, then get a partner for him. I work at the largest rabbit rescue in the south east and this is what they recommend. Good luck.

  • Can I just replace a convertible top and toss the headliner and padding, or do I need them on an 84 rabbit?

I have been working on an 84 white VW Rabbit convertible with a black topfor a year and a half and have put off replacing the top until this spring. The top is really ragged with black tape covering the tears. The headliner underneath show age but has no visible rips or tears. The original horsehair padding is pretty stiff.

It has bothered me though: I never drive it with the top up, have only taken it out maybe 15 times per summer and leave it covered with a waterproof car cover with breathable eyelits when not in use(did some research on which cover to get and it was well worth it).

I can pick up a top and new hardware online for less than 200 or get the complete kit with new padding and headliner for over 400.

But do I really need the headliner and padding? The only thing they seem to be there for is blockout out sound when the top is up and make it look a little nicer inside.

I would be cheaper and easier to install if I just foregoed on the headliner and paddingCan I just replace a convertible top and toss the headliner and padding, or do I need them on an 84 rabbit?
I own a 1994 LeBaron convertible...the old headliner was simply installed on the new top, no problem.

It is useful to keep the liner...if you do have a need to drive with the top up, the car is better insulated, and much quieter. Looks nicer, too.

I take a price of paper and crumble it up, and my bunny loves it. Hes like a phyco trying to kill this peice of paper XD

at one point ((Im not sure he was aware)) therw the paper into this little basket ball hoop.

Theres also this carrot looking toy.

    http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js…

He REALLY REALLY loved this, BUT. If we tried to take it from him, he would 'charge' us.

-Its slightly nosie, but they seem to like it.

    ';Then home made toys';

-Cardboard rolls from toilet paper and paper towelsare great chew toys.

-Boxes full of shredded paper, junk mail or magazines can be used for playful digging and scratching.

--Even human baby rattles or mobiles make great playthings for rabbits.

Dried pine cones, straw whisk brooms, hand towels and even old telephone books can keep your rabbit busy for hours. My rabbit looks bored, what can i put in her cage to occupy her?
my rabbits actually like little balls to push around its more like busy work. if you have a smaller one or a large tube or house they have a time in their little forts. a lot of parrot toys are ok for them just make sure its ok for them to eat the things. Rabbits really like to be out and romp around with you. since they chew on cords and other things they can get in to trouble. i know it sounds silly but you can get a harness for your rabbit and have her tied. of course not by her self but with you around. you have have her free but not so free as to get in trouble. sit on the floor with her.

with mine I would drag carrots across the floor and hide them and watch them follow the trail, i dont know if it was as much fun for them as it was for me.
Buy her a pair of plastic baby keys. They love to toss them and hear a satisfying jangle. Or a bell on a key ring. Or a parrot toy to hang from her cage.

P.S. Have both of your rabbits fixed before you put them together.
is it possible to get another rabbit? is the cage big enough? maybe she would enjoy some companionship. just be sure you get another female or they'll be breeding like rabbits ;) lol (that was lame, i know)
they like things that make noise since they are colour blind they dont really react to colour so why not get something that has a bell type
hmm... carrots might be cute and occupy her, plus it will give her a yummy snack! good luck!

How do you get attacked by a rabbit?

Not that I want to get attacked by one. Just wondering :DHow do you get attacked by a rabbit?
In my experience, it usually happens if you have the scent of another, disliked rabbit, on you when you venture into a rabbit's 'territory.' It happened to me. I had a rabbit and my sister's two hated her. One day I went into my sister's room, and then next thing you know I have a rabbit's teeth sunk into my elbow. That was about 8 years ago, and I still have the 2-inch scar. How do you get attacked by a rabbit?
I think the only way to get attacked by a rabbit is to pick one up when it's wounded or otherwise really upset. From my experience, rabbits tend to run away rather than attack. Even when I've picked up a screaming baby rabbit, its mother never attacked me. (The baby did try to bite me - I guess that counts as being attacked?)

These are wild rabbits I'm talking about - but I don't think domestic bunnies are any more vorpal.
Well that rabbit would have alot of mental issues...first you piss him off poke him with a stick. they you taught him with a carrot keep pulling it a way as it tries to bite it. They in all its rabbit-like rage it will snap your neck
I had a rabbit once that would run across its cage and attack my hand as soon as i reached in the cage. she would bite and scratch anyone who got near her. In the end, she was accidently eaten by the dog. : (
If you rent the movie ';Monty Python and the Holy Grail';, they show a killer rabbit and you can see for yourself.
    bite its face?

i assume that would make it angry...

PLEASE HELP How can i find my rabbit?

P.S I'm a little worried b/c someone stole and killed one of my rabbits and another one mysteriously died.PLEASE HELP How can i find my rabbit?
I gather you have it outside. If so is the weather hot? If it is than try checking around to see if any holes have been dug especially around the foundations of houses and buildings. Is there any pipes or other objects that he could crawl into. Rabbits love to dig and if it is hot outside they will to keep cool. If it is inside than you need to check under furniture and beds that it may be able to crawl into not just underneath. When scared they will huddle into dark places to hide. Also are there any dogs or cats or birds (hawks, owls, etc.) around that might have attacked the rabbit? Be prepared that you may not be able to find it if another creature got to it first.PLEASE HELP How can i find my rabbit?
Ok, i remember when my rabbit ran away i got scared but i waited few days I placed some Carrots out and lettuce in the garden. And the best thing was it came back running home

    1. Get carrots, Place it in the garden

2.and some lettuce if you have Holes in your garden don't close them.

    Hope this helps

    Good luck

    Sal

    Try to wait few days
Aww..your poor rabbit! Is he kept outside?? If so, then thats why a few have them have been stolen. Put a lock on the cage when your not around. Or call your neighbors and ask if they have seen a rabbit running around. There's not much more you can do, but keep a close eye on your little rabbits! Good Luck:)
Do you keep them inside or outside. If it's kept outside, there's a possibility you won't find it.

Is there anyway you could put a lock on the cage door and figure out how to stop people from giving it food when no one's around?

Is Rabbit Punching a troublemaker in a Bar not such a bad idea?

Ever since I rabbit punched this dude in a bar when he was fighting with someone else, I like to sucker punch, now.

He did not know what hit him, and he hit the floor like, right away. It didn't take much, it was awesome. Then I ran away into the kitchen and peeked out and saw that he stuck around a little bit, drinking even more, (and in a good mood). Then he left the bar in a daze, forgetting his guitar, forgetting his motorcycle.

. Four or five days later he comes back, ';What the Hell happened that night?'; He goes through the whole scenario with the owner, ';I was standing here doing nothing...., etc.

    Then he comes up to me and says %26gt;No Listen%26lt; '; I don't know hose fault is whose, but.... somewhere in the middle of all that... SOMEbody hit ME in the BACK of the Head!';

    Then he looks right at me, ';Do you know who that was?';, ';I think you know who that was...?!';, ';I think you know who that WAS.';

I couldn't keep from laughing, and I still can't. I think it is just so funny. Is Rabbit Punching a troublemaker in a Bar not such a bad idea?
Well if said person is doing something particularly evil like ROBBING SOMEONE AT GUNPOINT then maybe but there's a reason it's called the rabbit punch. It can cause permanent brain damage fairly easily. Is Rabbit Punching a troublemaker in a Bar not such a bad idea?
That is a fools game. If you lacked the confidence to face him as a Man, why face him as a coward?

Sucker Punching is actually a Cowards way of not facing defeat, kinda like using a gun in a drive by and claiming victor.

Not a Value associated with Martial Arts or any Principle of Martial Arts.

Lo Sifu Jimi Woo said that Animals all can fight, we as humans are above this and in so should not make light of such actions and the ability to do so. It is a personal conflict that needs addressing then as you can go to prison, get shot, mugged or place your family in peril with this way. Paybacks can be hell. And one whom loses with his hands can easily get a weapon. And pay back you with no regards as to injury or Moral Judgement. You have your kids or MOM with you when he comes for a payback. Not Sound wisdom, and not Martial Arts.

Think as to this as stupiity on your part, and a thing to be Proud of on his. Your a Coward he is Not.

  • Can anyone tell me why my female rabbit seems to go off her food every so often?

Wondered if anyone had any sensible ideasCan anyone tell me why my female rabbit seems to go off her food every so often?
I have had several rabbit and sometimes they go off there food usually it is because they have a tummy ache. So i always make sure i have 2 ml syringes from my vet and when they have gone off i syringe feed them Hipp organic stage 1 tender carrots and potatoes baby food and i give them alittle pineapple juice which i was advice by my vet is good for upset tummy in rabbit and also water several times a day. If they are off there food for more than a day i always take them to the vet as if rabbit stop eating it can be hard to get them started again. But i usually find the baby food etc usally get them going again. Can anyone tell me why my female rabbit seems to go off her food every so often?
Well she shouldn't so you are right to be a bit concerned-does she go off her food for long? what do you feed her? It could be her diet that is the problem-rabbits that don't get enough fibre can get gas which makes them uncomfortable for a while and often disperses on it's own but not always, so it's not something you want your rabbit to have. the main part of her diet should be good quality hay, such as timothy hay, with a handful of pellets(not rabbit mix) and fresh greens with occasional fruit and starchy veg(carrots, turnip etc). If you already feed her this diet then I would get her to a vet experienced with rabbits to get her teeth checked in case she has tooth spurs or uneven wear that make eating uncomfortable-an experienced vet can usually check the back teeth without sedating the rabbit. This site is excellent for advice on rabbits health, diet etc and is written by a rabbit expert with years of experience http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/hrs.html

♡Ha ha, good question! This is NOT a picture of an actual 'snow rabbit', but in Japan, it would probably look something like this. I say this because THIS type of rabbit is common in traditional Japanese snacks and small figures. I have little ↓cakes (mochi) like this at my house NOW.

A small breed doe is normally ready to mate when she is 5 months old, and a buck is ready at 6 months. The medium size doe is ready to breed when she is 6 months old and the buck at 7 months. The heavy breed doe is ready at 8 months and the buck is ready at 9 months.

    some definitions..

    * A female rabbit is called a doe. A male rabbit is called a buck.

    * When referring to the parents of a rabbit, the mother is called the dam, and the father is called the sire.

    * When you mate two rabbits together, this is called breeding.

    * When you check to see if the doe is pregnant or when you breed her again before she is due to give birth, this is called testing.

    * When you put a box in the hutch that is lined with hay, this is called nesting.

    * When the doe gives birth, this is called kindling.

    * The period of time between breeding and kindling is called the gestation period.

    * She gives birth to a bunch of bunnies called kits. This bunch of bunnies is called a litter.

    * When you take the young rabbits away from the mother, this is called weaning.

THE minimum standard for a doe is that she produce at least the following number of rabbits per year all the way to weaning:

    * Dwarfs: 8

    * Small Breeds: 14

    * Medium Breeds: 16

    * Meat Type: 20

    * Giants: 16

Some information you'd like to know.

    Dwarf Breeds

The smallest breeds, the Dwarfs, vary in size from 1-3/4 to 3-1/2 lbs. They include:

    * Britannia Petite (White, black, black otter, or chestnut agouti) 1-1/2 - 2-1/2 lbs

    * Dwarf Hotot (White with black around its eyes) 2 - 3 lbs

    * Jersey Wooley (Many colors - Angora wool) 2 - 3-1/2 lbs

    * Netherland Dwarf (Many colors) 1-3/4 - 2-1/2 lbs

    * Polish (Black, blue, chocolate, blue eyed white, ruby eyed white, and broken) 2 - 3-1/2 lbs

These rabbits, as a group, are less than 3-1/2 pounds mature. These are the rabbits you will want to raise if you want small pets that don't consume much feed (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup per day) and take up the least amount of cage space (about 2-1/2 sq ft). Many times, these are the only rabbits that pet stores will buy. You can expect to fetch about $7.00 from pet stores without having to supply a pedigree. The pet store will turn around and sell them for about $30.00. When you sell to other breeders and provide a pedigree, you can expect from $15.00 to $40.00 or even $100.00 or more for a grand champion. Price depends on the rabbit's show background, quality, and heritage, including the production characteristics of its parents.

The Netherland Dwarf is the breed in greatest demand. The Netherland Dwarf has the most ARBA-recognized colors and patterns of all the breeds. If you're into variety, you can't go wrong with Netherland Dwarfs.

The problems you will run into with any of the dwarf breeds mentioned are the following:

    * The average litter size is 2 - 4 bunnies, as opposed to the larger breeds which have 6 - 12 bunnies.

    * The genes responsible for making a dwarf rabbit, in certain combinations is lethal. This combination occurs in 25% of the rabbits. The one having this gene usually dies within 4 days after birth.

    * Dwarf rabbits are more susceptible to coccidiosis, an intestinal parasite that many times proves lethal to the young rabbits between three and ten weeks of age.

    * I have found that a significant number of dwarfs have attitude problems. Many of them resort to scratching or biting you when you put your hand into their cage. It could be that they are more afraid than the larger breeds, just as chihuahua dogs have a nervous fight-back tendency.

The above factors don't tend to discourage people from raising dwarfs. They consider these problems as challenges. Dwarf rabbits are in great demand because of their popularity with young people. This, coupled with the lower litter rate, explain why they command a higher price than other rabbits.

    HAVE FUN!!
I am totally with Tina and highly discourage selfish, greedy, nasty people like you. If you are not these, you would not want to breed an animal that is third most overpopulated animal in the country.

If you really, really want to ';experience the miracle of birth';, then why don't you go to a shelter and foster a pregnant rabbit

Why do you need to add more animals to this world??? Why do you need to cause more animals to die??? WHY???

    You people are so idiotic!!!

Breeding is terrible and only experienced people should breed, not just anybody with a rabbit!!!!

Think about how many deaths you would cause because you bred, then decide.
I am not sure about the age to start the reproduction process, but you can put a female rabbit does not have heat cycles. Any time you put her in the male cage, he will breed her and you will get babies. If you introduce her into his cage, more than once, during the same time period, she will have more babies. I bought my rabbits (male and female) from Texas A%26amp;M University in Kingsville Texas. they gave me good advice and answered lots of my questions. Here is their website: http://users.tamuk.edu/kfsdl00/rabb.html

    Hope it helps you some.
Nope, when she turns around 6 months you can breed her. But be prepared, most mothers end up eating the first litter, its their way of ';getting rid of the garbage';.

The second litter should prove to be better. Just be careful how much you let them breed of course.
Breed her after 6 months. Under 6 months is still considered a Junour rabbit what means rabbits are still growing.

Is it a good sign my rabbit with paralysis still has feeling in his legs?

my rabbit has has this for over a month now i took him to the vets and he gave me panacur paste to try for 9days that was a few weeks ago i was supose to take him back but cannot afford it right now so ive been trying to take care of him bathing him everyday and helping him stand up wich is hard work as i have a 2yr old daughter..does anybody no if rabbits with this condition have full regained use of the legs with or without treatment ?Is it a good sign my rabbit with paralysis still has feeling in his legs?
    Yes...

How often should we give pet rabbit kept outside water?

Our rabbit does not drink entire bowl of water in one day also when it gets below freezing outside wouldnt it be ok to also put fresh snow in a bowl so the rabbit could eat when water freezes before we can get fresh water to it?How often should we give pet rabbit kept outside water?
She needs fresh water in her bowl everyday, even if she doesn't drink it all. Stagnant water (water that sits and has no movement like a flowing stream or brook) becomes filled with bacteria very quickly. Also, do not put snow in her bowl. Rain, snow and any other precipitation from the sky has a quantity of acid in it. Just give your rabbit fresh water every day.How often should we give pet rabbit kept outside water?
You should go to domestic rabbits.com! Rabbits should have fresh water everyday! even the ones kept outside.
The rabbit needs fresh water at all times. Especially if it gets sick.

Use a bottle feeder for the water and keep the bottle room temperature by whatever means you can.
    Just keep refreshing his water.
Um, if it's snowing out, bring the rabbits inside! That's cruel and horrible! You don't want to live outside in that weather and neither do they.

If you're going to leave them outside anyway, which is awful, but you probably will no matter what people tell you, buy a heated dog water bowl. They make those. It'll let your poor freezing rabbit have some fresh warm water to drink at all times.
rabbits need to have water all day every day. You should change it everyday because it can collect bacteria. In the summer you need to check it often to see if you need to refill it. In winter you also need to make sure the water is not frozen
you should give fresh water everyday and just keep the bowl filled, that way they can have as much as they want. you cant give it too much water, but you can give too little. the rabbit will drink when it needs to. also you should not be keeping your rabbit in freexing weather, that is cruel.
Keeping a rabbit outside is not cruel. Crazy people. What do you think rabbits did before humans came along and made them pets? Anyway. Yes, rabbits need fresh water everday, preferably around the clock, but if it freezes then you may have to change it ever so often.
you need to give it fresh water everyday.

How do you breed a A rabbit???

i have never done it before,i want to breed my mimi lop with a female mini lop!!!how can you do it???How do you breed a A rabbit???
rabbits don't need any help from you.

just put them together! they will know what to do.How do you breed a A rabbit???
I have two rabbits, and at first when they're babies its very difficult to tell the gender, so I always keep them in different cages. When you put a male and female in one cage or area, when they grow up a little they will breed naturally.
You buy a female and let the magick happen... hehe.
you put the male in with the female and let nature take its course...
put them in the cage together and they will know what to do
How old are you? Better ask your parents. It's done in the usual way.
Put female and male together and stand back. They really don't need any help, smile.
Put a male and a female togather. They will take care of the rest, all by themselves...
Please don't breed your rabbits. Get them spayed and neutered.

Real animal lovers don't breed their animals. Just like dogs and cats, rabbits have an overpopulation problem too. They're the third-most surrendered animal to animal shelters. Rabbits die every day simply because they lack homes. Adding to the rabbit population will only create more rabbits to be killed.

If you truly want to help animals, adopt from your local shelter or rabbit rescue group. Also, sterilize your pets to prevent them from reproducing.
Save yourself the effort of trying to breed rabbits. Unspayed female rabbits have a very high cancer rate. Do your bunny a favor and just get her spayed. She will be better off for it and her temperment will be better.
keep them in a cage together and wait

    * She gives birth to a bunch of bunnies called kits. This bunch of bunnies is called a litter.

    * When you take the young rabbits away from the mother, this is called weaning.

    Introduction

A small breed doe is normally ready to mate when she is 5 months old, and a buck is ready at 6 months. The medium size doe is ready to breed when she is 6 months old and the buck at 7 months. The heavy breed doe is ready at 8 months and the buck is ready at 9 months.

It's usually a good idea to select rabbits to breed whose ancestry has evidence of good productivity and good genetics. That's where productivity records and pedigrees listing show winnings come in handy. Keep productivity and show records of your herd just for this purpose.

You may keep a ratio of one buck to 10 does if you wish. The buck may be bred up to 7 times a week effectively. Sometimes, you can use the buck twice in one day. The most I use a buck is twice a week.

Keep the following principles in mind when you want to breed your rabbits:

    * Only mate rabbits of the same breed. See Rabbit Raising - The Basics. Exceptions to this include breeding for meat, pets or genetic experimentation. You cannot sell a pedigree rabbit that has mixed blood in its background going back 4 generations.

    * Do not keep more than one rabbit in each cage when the rabbit is 3 months or older. Rabbits mature faster when alone, do not fight, and do not breed, thus eliminating unexpected results.

    * Before breeding, check the bottom of the cage of both the doe and buck for evidence of diarrhea or loose stools. Do not breed the rabbit having this condition until it has been adequately treated. Also check the genitals of both rabbits for any signs of disease or infection (for example, extreme redness, discharge, sores or scabbiness). Refer to the ARBA Official Guidebook section on diseases.

    * When ready to breed the doe, take it to the buck's cage. Never bring the buck to the doe's cage. The reason for this is that the buck has less tendency to breed in the doe's cage. He's too busy sniffing around the cage.

    * Some leave the doe with the buck overnight. Others put the doe in, watch it, and when they have mated, remove the doe. If you do the latter, put the doe back in with the buck 1 to 12 hours after the initial breeding. This will increase the likelihood of pregnancy and may increase the number of offspring.

    * Keep a calendar and accurate records of the day you breed the doe. You should test her for pregnancy between the 10th and 14th day after the initial breeding. There are two ways to do this. The overall preferred method is to palpate the lower abdomen of the doe with your thumb and forefinger checking for nodules about the size of a marble. The other method is not only more risky but also more inaccurate. This method is to mate the doe with the buck again. This can cause problems because the doe has two uterine horns, each of which can carry babies. It is possible for one horn to be fertilized on the first mating and the second to be fertilized on the second mating. This will create a hormonal imbalance and cause the babies in both uteri to not form right, causing her to pass blobs instead of babies at the date of kindling. There is also a chance these ';mummified'; blobs could cause complications leading to the death of the doe.

    * You should place a nest box in her cage on the 29th day after breeding. Thirty-one days after breeding, she should kindle her litter.

Who Can Be Bred To Whom?

Never breed brothers to sisters. Other combinations are fine: father-to-daughter, mother-to-son, cousins, etc. Until you gain some knowledge as to how genetics works with inbreeding, I would recommend your not breeding closely related pairs.

As mentioned before, mate the same breeds together unless you are trying to get meat rabbits with certain characteristics or you are doing genetic experiments or you don't care about the fate of the offspring. You cannot sell the offspring as pedigree if their ancestry is not of the same breed going back four generations.

You may mate rabbits of the same breed having different colors. Keep in mind, though, that there are many combinations of possibilities when mixing colors. Some of the offspring may have colors that are not recognized by ARBA. It is usually best to mate rabbits having the same color to start off with until you know more about how the colors interact. See the section on genetics for more information on colors. Also, join the national specialty group for the breed you are interested in raising. They usually have literature on how to develop the best color, size, and shape of your rabbit.

Avoid breeding rabbits that have genetic defects such as tooth malocclusion (wolf teeth) or moon eye (cloudy cornea), or produces offspring whose skull does not come together (except in dwarfs, where approximately 25% are born too small with deformed head or legs - the offspring are called peanuts). Determine whether the sire or dam is responsible for passing the genetic defect and eliminate it for breeding purposes.

Strive to meet the perfect standard for the breed you are mating. Order the ARBA Standard of Perfection Booklet to know exactly what is expected of the breed. Also, join the national association for that breed to get their manual on the breed. Check out the ARBA web page for a list of associations. This will show you how to improve your herd.

    Evaluating A Rabbit's Reproductive Life

A rabbit may normally start breeding at the age of 6 months for the small to medium size breeds and 8 to 9 months for the heavy breeds. The gestation period (time between breeding and kindling) is 31 days. After the doe has kindled, I normally re-breed her at 6 weeks and wean the litter at 5-7 weeks. This cycle continues until she is about 4 years old or until her production is unsatisfactory.

I review the herd records every quarter to determine which rabbits are not producing up to par and eliminate them. In October through December, some rabbits go into what is called moulting. At this period, many do not conceive. If you have lights on all the time in your rabbitry, this will help. Rabbits are like chickens that lay eggs only if there is enough light. Raising most of my rabbits outside, I take this problem into consideration when evaluating them. Also, if it gets too hot in the summer, especially for those who live in the Southern U.S., the buck produces less viable sperm and the conception rate goes down. Some people keep their bucks air conditioned to keep the conception rate high.

My minimum standard for a doe is that she produce at least the following number of rabbits per year all the way to weaning:

    * Dwarfs: 8

    * Small Breeds: 14

    * Medium Breeds: 16

    * Meat Type: 20

    * Giants: 16

    A Suggested Schedule

I have developed a Breeding Schedule for my rabbitry that you may wish to use. I have presented the schedule in the form of a flow chart. This flow chart is followed by the same information in a detailed instruction format. To get a permanent copy, you may print the page by going to it and pressing [Ctrl-P].

Good luck in your endeavors to produce fine rabbits!
I believe these things happen quite naturally, but I am not an expert...

  • What is the wrong with my rabbit? And what should I do?

One of my two rabbits is aggressive sometimes when i go and feed the two in the morning and the one that is aggressive also has pooh build up.What is the wrong with my rabbit? And what should I do?
Spaying and neutering can help a lot with rabbit aggression. If the poop build up is on his skin, you may have to catch him and wrap him up in a big bath towel in order to wash him off. What is the wrong with my rabbit? And what should I do?
Rabbits who aren't well socialized, and don't get enough out of cage time, become cage aggressive. The solution is letting him play out of his cage more. And, after that if he's still a grouch, try side tracking him by running your fingers along the side of his cage, and distracting him away from his food dish so you can grab it.

If his waste are getting stuck to his fur on his underbelly and rump, you need to cut away the hair and nasties. If you don't it's not unlikely he'll get a bacteria infection from the build up.
maybe go on dr. phil's show and you two can sit down and discuss this problem that seems to be between the two of you. it really breaks my heart that this relationship has soured.

as for the poo, what would you do? its nothing new, but it still smells like pee-you!

What is the best breed of rabbit for a apartment with a little back yard space?

i was thinking a mini rex or a florida white im 1 of 4 kids please help i want a small breed rabbit one that is good with babiesWhat is the best breed of rabbit for a apartment with a little back yard space?
Rabbits aren't generally friendly if they're kept outside, I wouldn't let a baby play with one. They tend to nibble, even when they're being nice.

Just a thought - larger breed rabbits can be kept indoors like cats are. We had a big bunny who learned to use a litter box, and to come when he was called. He loved Triscuits, too... :-)What is the best breed of rabbit for a apartment with a little back yard space?
Do you plan on keeping the rabbit indoors or outdoors?

If you are keeping the rabbit indoors, any breed will be fine, as long as it is properly socialized and handled correctly.

If the rabbit will be kept outdoors, make sure whatever you choose has short hair for then they won't get overheated during the spring/summer time.

How do I litter train my rabbit?

-Qbanchik56How do I litter train my rabbit?
When she is in the area you wish to keep her in take notice of where she wants to eliminate. She will not use the tray if you put it somewhere she does not want to go. She will only go where she wants to and this is where you want the tray. Make sure the tray has high enough sides as a rabbit will back up to the edge of the tray and if it is too low they will pee over the side. I have 9 rabbits and they all use a tray and it was simply a matter of putting it in the right place. They will nearly always pee in the tray but will often poop somewhere out of the tray so you will still have to keep an eye out for this.

Incidentally for chef_kur, I made my comment but seriously was not the source of a report. Maybe someone elso took further exception to your comments but it was not I. Sorry. Thanks for the thumbs down on the questions anyway.

P.S. Have heard the one about the bear and the rabbit anywayHow do I litter train my rabbit?
the best way to litter train a rabbit

is to make it look inviting so they actually want to go in there

out some of her favourite food or hay in their

and keep putting her in there every 10 mins

    so she gets the idea

and also if she pees on you floor/couch ect.

just put her in the litter box.

make sure you dont yell at her when you putting her in there

or she will think of it has her naughty place or like a prison

and she wont want to go in there!

    hope this helped :)

remember it takes time so dont expect it to happen

    in the 2st week!

my mini lop is now trained after 3 weeks
Get four litter boxes and put one in each corner of her cage. The corner she uses the most, keep that litter box there. You can use the other ones for when she is running around.

Well, as long as her litter is out she will go in it. I had a rabbit however I only let her out here and there and watched her carefully. They chew cords etc...
