Will the mom rabbit eat the new born babies?

Its just the mom and Im not sure if she is pregnant or not but there are signs and she was in a cage with like 20 other rabbits so the chances are pretty high. So will the mom eat the new born babies right when they are bornt?Will the mom rabbit eat the new born babies?

Your mom rabbit will only eat her babies if your scent gets on them. Your scent can get on them if you touch them or handle them. After around 4 days, it is fine to touch and handle them - as long as they are coming out of the nest. It is tempting to touch the babies, but please don't for the first 4 days!

the female rabbit need to be in a cage by her self. put a nest box in the cage with hay in it. the female rabbit will pull fur to line the nest with. she need to be left along to have her babies. and no i don't think she will eat her babies. if you have just got the rabbit you need to wear glove when you check the babies so she wont kill them with your smell being on the babies. if you have had her for a couple of month then you wouldn't need glove. if this is the case then the only person that is taking care of the rabbits should be the only one to touch the babies. cause she could kill the babies or abandon them.and when she has them you need to check for two nest in the nest box and put all the babies in one nest.

No. She might reject some of the babies if she thinks they are sick or deformed, etc. But they do not eat their own offspring. And besides, rabbits are not meat eaters. Not at all.

If the mom is a horny playboy bunny and wants to bang more but feels weighed down by the young she needs to care for, yeah she will eat them . they kill thier young just like any other animals so they can bump uglies an extra bitm longer. keep the males away cause they drive woman crazy!
