Why has my rabbit got really bad diarrhoea?

I got my rabbit yesterday, and she has really bad diarrhoea, she's covered in it!!!

What shall I do?!Why has my rabbit got really bad diarrhoea?
Exactly how old is the rabbit? Rabbits under 8 weeks of age should not be sold due to the lack of flora in the digestive tract and the immune system not being fully developed.

Having said that, your rabbit should be fed a strict diet of unlimited amounts of timothy hay and pellets for now. No greens, no treats, nothing else until this diarrhea stops. Because diarrhea can be fatal to rabbits, it is important to take the rabbit to the vet. Be sure to provide fresh water for your rabbit. No lettuce, no cabbage!

Please, DO NOT bathe your rabbit. Because this rabbit is showing signs of illness, a bath can cause great stress and even shock to your rabbit in this state. Just take a warm cloth and wipe down the affected area.

Again, make sure you start providing the hay today and the pellet. Why has my rabbit got really bad diarrhoea?
This can quickly become an urgent situation due to dehydration, so please act fast and get some fluids in her, even if you have to force-feed her water with a plastic syringe. After a few hours, you can try adding bland food in what is called the BRAT diet-- Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast. (Incidentally, this diet is also recommended for human diarrhea.) Just go easy on the apples, since an excess of fruits and vegetables (especially leafy green veggies) can sometimes be the cause of diarrhea. Lethargy should be cause for serious concern, and you should get your rabbit to a vet immediately. Dehydrated rabbits can die within a matter of hours.
