Does anyone have suggestions for deer and especially rabbit resistant perennials ? We have trouble with a?

couple of gardens that are near the wood/brush line??? Thank you for your support!Does anyone have suggestions for deer and especially rabbit resistant perennials ? We have trouble with a?
Toss some mothballs around and in your garden. Animals hate the smell, but it's not too noticeable to humans. Reapply after they start to dissolve in the rain or after you have watered a few times. Your pets won't go near them either.

I had a problem with deer, rabbits and other wildlife eating my new saplings and garden plants. They stay away from the mothballs!! Wear gloves when you toss them.

Have also heard that using red pepper/Cayenne pepper works too. Haven't tried it, but seems like mothballs would last longer than pepper.

This way you can plant whatever you want and keep the animals away.

Good luck!!Does anyone have suggestions for deer and especially rabbit resistant perennials ? We have trouble with a?
There are plenty of plants that rabbits don't really like, plenty that they really really like, but in truth rabbits will eat more or less anything if they are hungry enough. So, the best you can hope for is to ensure that your plants aren't their favourites. The list at the following site may be helpful.

I find that rhododendrons are generally left alone. But, I have also found that if I put in young plants of a kind that the rabbits don't really like, they will often dig them out - this has certainly happened with rhubarb, for instance.

Last winter I resorted to cage traps and relocation, which thinned the nearby population to a level that is temporarily tolerable.
We also have a problem with deer, I have found that deer do not like fern-leafed yarrow or an artemisia (wormwood). Also planting marigolds among the perennials work.
