After my rabbit has been running around in his harness when i try pick him up he is very distant from me.?

I live out in the country so at night when its safe i put him on his harness and let him hop and jump around the back yard with me right behind him.

After about 30mins of crazy hopping anf jumping i TRY and pick him up and put him back in his cage and he goes crazy. and wont settle down and relax

WHY?After my rabbit has been running around in his harness when i try pick him up he is very distant from me.?
The harness could be making him anxious and maybe sore when you touch him. After my rabbit has been running around in his harness when i try pick him up he is very distant from me.?
He wants to play for longer,

Is there any chance you could make him or purchase him a run so that he can run around for about 3 hours a day.

Rabbits are nocturnal, the sleep during the day and like dusk the best, so he's understandibly pissed off when you take him out give him 30 minutes of freedom then try to shove him back in his cage.

I also don't like rabbit leads, I once cared for a rabbit at the sanctuary that died from a broken back after someone had used a lead - might not happen to you but it was very sad. Best give him a nice big run so that he can binky (rabbit hops) to his heart's content

Also google 'caring for rabbits' there is a wealth of information on the care of these delightful creatures.
Its probably because he wants to play for longer

Btw, ';Heidi's Mummy';, Rabbits are not nocturnal!!
It sounds like he enjoys his freedom out of the cage similar to my chinchilla who never used to like going back in her cage. the way i solved was by putting a run on the cage ,she calmed down after that. check an see if the cage is to small, if it is a run might solve the problem
when he's doing his crazy hopping and jumping on the lead, this dsnt sound normal.make sure he dsnt feel that you are a threat to him. if its safe to do so, why do you try making the lead longer by securely tying more and more length of rope to it and let him explore a little with you keeping an eye on him from the distance. make sure the harness is not too tight as this can cause serious damage, rabbits have very weak bones. when you are ready to pick him up and put him back, try walking down on all fours to get him because he will see u as a giant threat. when picking him up, give him his fave treat while u carry him back to his hutch. make sure you are lifting and carrying him properly, you will find plenty of examples of how to do this on youtube. i hope this helps, do let us know how you get on, Thanks and good luck!!!
