Why is my rabbit losing its fur?

My rabbit was losing its fur like a bunch!

My rabbit is a male.

It shares a cage with a baby female bunny.

What's wrong with my rabbit?!Why is my rabbit losing its fur?
Hi,

It depends. If your rabbit is losing fur and you can't seem to find where it is then he is just pulling out her extra fur from winter don't worry about that it's normal. However if he is putting her fur in holes and small corners that means usually that he (in this case the female bunny)is having a baby/babies. If you want to know anymore signs then check her stomach for any small bumps that is another sign. Remember if he isn't putting it in corners or in holes then she is just getting rid of extra fur. Hope i helped.

Bye and good luck. Why is my rabbit losing its fur?
It could be that beacuse it's summer the rabbit is loosing it's fur to keep cool. I have 2 Angora rabbits and they were really fluffy and now almost look like normal rabbits. Another reason could be that the female is trying to mate with the male and while trying to grap him she may have pulled some fur out. The female may also be in season so may be building a nest using your male rabbits fur.
It may be shedding- don't worry it happens to all animals when shedding season comes, or the problem may be your rabbit is stressed- so in this case you should feed your bunny LOTS of timothy hay or untreated or natural grass to eat- this will relieve the stress or tension. Take it to the vet just in case!
I have raised 4 rabbits 2 of them were wild. Go to your web search and lifescript.com there should be a heading that says hop into bunny care, you might have to type it in also. This will .answer all of your bunny questions. It's like a news letter with tips for health and complete bunny care. And your bunny is just moulting. By the way you can ask questions and they don't charge you to answer them like some pet care sites.

And to those people who said that his rabbit was dying, not only are you talking out your a**hole, but that is a crappy thing to say to anyone.
How old is your rabbit? It may come from old age or it might have a disease where that is one of the symptoms. Research rabbit diseases or call up your local vetranarian.
My vet told me that rabbits sometimes do that when they have bad infections and/or fevers. You need to take your bunny to the vet.
my FEMALE rabbit lost her fur when she was pregnant, to make a nest for her babies.
