NEVER spank a rabbit! For several reasons - because they're so fragile, you could seriously injure it; and secondly, your rabbit will not understand this human behaviour, and will become afraid of you and not want to come near you!

... rabbits can be toilet-trained 鈥?whether in his hutch, or free in your home, you鈥檒l notice that your bunny usually pees in the same corner. So, get a flat tray - we cover our bunn's litter tray with a couple of pages of newspaper and more wood shavings - and put the tray directly where he鈥檚 peeing. He then begins to associate the tray as the toilet. (Just a word of warning - NEVER use mineral cat litter, because if a rabbit ingests this, it can swell in his stomach and he will die. Much better are wood shavings or shredded paper.) The trick is really to put the tray where you observe him peeing, rather than try to get him to go wherever you place the tray 鈥?that will not succeed! He will eventually associate the tray with pooping as well, but this is relative to the individual bunny 鈥?some bunnies are easier to toilet train than others, and you must remember that, from a rabbit鈥檚 point of view, depositing a small pile of droppings, and their regular corners where they pee also, reassures your bunny that this is his territory, and that no other pesky renegade rabbits are going to try and claim it as theirs. Anyway, bunnies鈥?pellet-like poop isn鈥檛 very offensive, and is easy to sweep up! You can gather up the pellets which bunny deposits around the room, and place them on his litter tray - this will encourage him to recognise the tray as the place to deposit them in future. But rabbits can indeed be toilet trained because, to reiterate, they like to go in the one place 鈥?so when you find the place that they like to go, that is where you place the tray, and they will learn to associate the tray with their toilet. If they鈥檙e also peeing in a different spot, especially in a large enclosure or a big room, you simply place another, second tray in that new spot too - so bunny may have two trays, in a larger enclosure or room.How do I litter train my rabbit?
i don't think you can. cats use litter because they have an instinct to go in sand to cover it up, but rabbits just go wherever they feel like going.
The most effect way is to spank your rabbit if it does its business in the wrong place.





I don't think the obedience schools or anything like that works. My aunt spent hundreds of dollars on one, and when her toy poodle came back, it started doing its business all over the carpet again. so she just had my grandma spank it.

Is there something wrong with my rabbit?

I literally just went to go check on my rabbit, and down the middle of his back it looks as though his skin is really flakey, and when i stroked where it is, his hair started to come off onto my fingers really easily. It feel a little bumpy aswell, but there isnt a lump as i checked. Im going to my vet shop tomorrow to make sure everything is ok, but does anyone know what this might be? Is there something wrong with my rabbit?
This is probably fleas. They attack along the skin on the backbone and can cause this problem, such as red, itchy and flaky skin.





Carefully check the area along the backbone (by parting the fur) and you might see tiny black dots darting away. These are the fleas. If you hold your rabbit when it has this problem, it is likely that the fleas are on you, so make sure the clothes you are wearing go in the wash. Try to avoid handling your rabbit.





There are many ways to get rid of fleas, and they are very common. Your vet will probably recommend a shampoo or spray-on solution to conquer the problem. You can also by over the counter remedies for this problem.





Finally, make sure the housing your rabbit stays in is clean and is changed regularly.





I am almost 100% sure this is the problem, so don't be worried. Obviously, keep an eye on her for the time being. Hope this helps!

it is not actually difficult to treat.with proper vet guidance,it should be gone after a week's treatment.do not fret about this.mine had this one and fortunately,with a medicine from the vet,it got better already.

a few times a year a bunny loses hair very easy. Weather does it but so does stress. If your bunny is nerves, his or her hair will come out really easy. He could be back bones u are feeling but like others have mention (mites,fleas and so on) u can use advantage on your bunny but only a small amount. Some bunny like to be brushed with a rabbit brush (nothing like a cat or dog brush cuz its to rough) If you scratch his back, does he look itchy? that could be fleas or something smilier. could be dry skin so make sure he is getting Hay on a daily basis and good food (no food with colors or corn and different things, just pellets is better for them) hope he gets better :)
If you have fleas the rabbit could be allergic to them. Please do not use regular flea dip even if its for cats. It could be deadly to them.


Please take them to the Vet they will prescribe something for your bunny. Good Luck

I am not sure, but I have a cat who runs and moves like it is a ferret, we have never owned a ferret, but the cat thinks he is one. It is funny...I smile everytime I see the little guy run across the room.Is it possible for a cat to have a mental illness which leads to it believing it's a rabbit.?

Sounds whacked, but I can sympathize. I had two ferrets and got a kitten. She went upstairs into their cage, slept, ate and played with them. Eventually, she made their ';squeek'; noises and bounced around just like they do. Acted just like the ferrets in every way. I came home from work one day to find her stuck in the opening to the upstairs of the cage - too grown up to fit, meowing for help. A sight I will always remember!!!
He/She may act like a rabbit, or seem to be acting that way to you, but it may just be quirky. Theres plenty of people who act strangely! I have a dog who sometimes acts like a cat, sitting on the tops of furniture, laying in window sills, etc. but it may just be because he saw my old cat do it and thought it looked comfortable.

I urge you not to take your rabbit on board. Firstly, I doubt the airline would allow it as a carry on, and also in the luggage it may be squashed. Anyway, under pressure and during the take-off the rabbit would be very scared and, dare I say, could have a heart attack and die.





I would definitely put it into a pet transportation service (ground) if you must.
Because in the rise in altitude it is very risky to put a rabbit on a plane. You will not be allowed to put it in the cabin with you so it will go in the luggage and think very carefully about doing this as when one of my friends took a rabbit on a plane from england to france (less than an hour) unfortunately it died because the pressure crushed it

Help, how to stop my rabbit from digging in the cage?

I have a young rabbit, about 4 months old. She digs and scratches the corners and bottom of her cage everying morning. It disturbs my sleep everyday, as she does this around 4 or 5am. She is scared because she is still getting used to her surroundings. Move her to another room untill you think it is getting better, if not, go to the place you bought her and ask if the know how it can be solved, only if it was a pet shop.Help, how to stop my rabbit from digging in the cage?
The easiest way to deal with this is to get a small wooden box, fill it with straw or shredded newspaper, and when she starts to dig at the cage, try to put her in the box. This will give her the feeling of being in a dark and sheltered area like a rabbit den, and might help her stop digging.
She might be bored. Try putting an old towel in there for her to scoot around or an untreated wicker basket with strips of newspaper.
It's natural behavior, rabbits are burrowing animals. Does she have a house inside her cage to sleep inside or go into when she's frightened? It might help. She might also be hungry, and you could make sure that when you go to bed at night that she has enough timothy grass to see her through the night. If neither of those work, then you'll have to put her in another room overnight.
There digging can't stop. Its there nature. They are a


burrowing animal and its there nature to dig a hole to


escape predators. Bunny is scared and feel unsafe

get them while there sleeping. Poor thing is only trying to

Try this. Find a small wooden box with a hole the proper


size for her to go in and out. Face it so she can't see out


too fare and that should make her feel she is hidden and


safe. She would most likely chew up a cardboard box but


it would help a night or two.


If you are going to raise young rabbits then when the time


comes she will need to go to the bucks place. If you bring


the buck into her space she will fight hem. That's her space!


Now you could put a sign up that says ';no owls aloud'; but


Bunny knows that owls can't read so she would still be

you should take it to the animal hospital
you can take wild animals to the vet, they may also not charge you anything. plus after they have helped it, they'll probably release it in the wild. or... if its too bad and they cant help him because of money problems, they will put him down. However just take it to the vet.

Ok it is no longer wild cause you picked it up and no other rabbits will come near it unless they are young. You NEED to take it to a vet before it bone heals improperly. If it is still very young you need to get is some milk replacement formula from ur pet store. feed it with a surenge. Cow milk will not work for it dose not have the proper nutrients that a rabbit needs
